• Courses in WS 2016/17:
  • We are delighted to welcome the AICES postdoctoral fellow Dr. Konstantinos Panagiotou at IFAM.
  • We congratulate Greta Kloppenburg and Tim van der Velden on successfully completing their bachelor theses on the topics "Implementierung eines FFT-solvers bei großen Deformationen zur Vorhersage der lokalen und effektiven Materialantwort bei heterogenen Mikrostrukturen" and "Implementierung und Studien eines elastischen Schädigungsmodells unter Berücksichtigung des Rissschließungseffektes".
  • Open research assistant position
  • We congratulate Ashish Sethi on successfully completing his master thesis on the topic "Numerical modelling of artificial tubular heart valve".
  • Two projects are financed by the Deutsche Forschungsgesellschaft at IFAM in the third funding period of SFB/TR40 "Technological foundations for the design of thermally and mechanically highly loaded components of future space transportation systems". One project is about lifetime prediction of nozzle structures under streaming conditions, the other is about simulation technologies for thermal buckling in aerothermodynamically loaded thin-walled structures.
  • Dr.-Ing. Stephan Wulfinghoff aquires new DFG-project on the topic "shearband-based homogenization".
  • IFAM is now a member of the living heart project of Dassault Systems.
  • We are delighted to welcome the Humboldt fellow Evan J. Pineda, Ph. D. from NASA Glenn Research Center (Cleveland, Ohio). He will be our guest until December 2016.
